heart.broken.

It pains me to write this:

If you've read my blog regularly, you know my affinity for the 'Gilmore Girls.' Lorilei and Rory Gilmore are my favorite mother/daughter duo. Sure, Lorilei speaks quite rapidly, but boy, it's witty.

And, Rory! She's so sweet (since I knew her back when she was only 14) and has turned into quite an accomplished young lady.

I just got news that the Girls are being cancelled. This will be their last season. But, hey, I may have saw that coming. Since the main writers left after 6 seasons, this last season just hasn't compared. Ratings have dropped. Supposedly, Alexis Bledel (Rory) hasn't wanted to do another season. So maybe another month of shows before the cancellation? Nope. We only get 2! more episodes. May 15th is my doomsday.

How are they supposed to wrap this 7 year show in only 2 episodes?!

I'm sick about it. Just sick.

More about this later... just had to vent.

Pulease...

Frustrated with Ashley fake-no-face Simpson? Well, if you like the The Cure’s front man, Robert Smith, you’re not going to like this new collaboration one bit.

This girl’s got no cred in the music industry, yet people are giving her these crazy, unexplainable opportunities. Yuck.

Okay. I’m done… for now.

My "Last Kiss..."

Oh boy, I knew it! I knew The Last Kiss would be a terrible, depressing movie. And yet? I watched.

Sure, there's always the soundtrack to look forward to- but, even then- disappointing! (C'mon- a Coldplay song for the musical montage during a down-pour for the scene of regret?)

I don't know what I was thinking... Jeff went off to have game night, so I'd stay home with a movie he would never watch. I am a sucker for a good chick flick... But, this one, t.e.r.r.i.b.l.e!

The storyline was pointless-- Men feeling like they have made the wrong choices, and then trying to live with the consequences. Or, for Zach Braff's character- being terrified that he will never again experience another surprise for the rest of his life... Never experience another first kiss... Oh brother! Get over it! And the women in this movie- they were portrayed as high-maintenanced, emotional baggage that men have to try and get accustomed to. Puke. That's right- puke.

And the acting: wow, the leading lady kept slipping in and out of an English/British accent. And, I just don't see Zach Braff as a dramatic actor. He'll always be Newbie to me. (His 'Scrubs' character.)

I should've stuck with my gut on this one: Don't watch it. You will have wasted 99 minutes that could've spent in a much happier place. Not to mention, it is rated R, and I am once again reminded why I should not watch these types of movies.

So, again, don't let this movie be your Last Kiss, it'll simply leave a bad taste in your mouth. Seriously.

A Little Comic Relief...

Did anyone catch this last week's episode of 'The Office?' I did, and it was just the comic relief I needed.

Remember the beginning scene where Jan tells Michael the Scranton Branch will be closing? I received almost the exact same news on Monday. My boss from NY called to tell me I was being 'let-go.' Let go... Let go... For me that phrase was always a little dramatic. In poems I wrote in Junior High and High school (my "oh, woe is me" days) that seemed to be a repetitive theme. And, now, at 26, I was being told the exact same thing.

And, just as Michael thought- "We are screwed!" and "This is the worst." I immediately felt those same feelings...

But in Hollywood, there's always a happy ending. All is well for the Scranton Branch employees ... Their jobs are saved! The branch is not closing! Pheew. (And, this is a great thing... can't wait to see the chemistry between Jim and Pam again. It's about time Jim came back-- things were getting boring without him.)

But, let's face it, I don't work for Dundler Mifflin... And, 'The Office' is only a television show. But, if I could re-write the sitcom that is 'Lacey's Life,' would I change what happened to me? I mean, I did receive a great severance package... (By the way, did you know the word severance is defined as "the act of being severed?" And, to be honest, it felt like my hand, foot, or pinky- something that I desperately needed- was being severed.)

I don't know if I would. Life's now just a little different. Things will turn out how they're supposed to. (That's another phrase that- although used a lot- always brings a little needed comfort.)

I'll be spending more time on Craig's List, Hot Jobs, and the like... Besides, just like Pam said, maybe this is a blessing in disguise...

Albeit, a creepy, dark, disguise, but a disguise nonetheless. So, wish me luck in the Job Search! Things can only look up from here...

What a Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day...

10.25.06- I think it's a day that I will never forget. Not only did it snow yesterday, there was also that chill in the air that you can fill all the way to your bones. So, the seasons are officially changing. The fall’s warping into winter. It's the season of hibernation and hot cocoa.

But, I was still motivated, well, just barely, to go to my Pilate’s class- the class starts at 6:30, and at 6:11, I decided to go.

Not wanting to be late, (I think everyone will look up from their bicycle kicks and stare at the ‘tardy one.’) I rushed out the door.

To get to Gold's Gym, I shortcut between State Street and Van Winkle, which I’ve dubbed the ‘wobbly road,’ its one of those roads that while driving you think your tire has a huge hole in it. While driving, I look down at my phone to glance at the time, then look up and see a police car staring right at me. I got zapped! Yep, I was speeding. So, he pulls me over.

Should I plead my case? Say I didn’t know what the speed limit was? Tell him I was just trying to make it to my Pilates class? I couldn’t- he called me ‘ma’am.’ Ma’am!

He then got right to business, asked for my driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance.

I’ve been a driver for 10 years… 120 months… 3650 days… without a speeding ticket to date. And yet, I had been caught! I felt like I was in fifth grade again- my friends stole Smarties (or good working pills, as we knew them), and got caught red-handed by Mrs. Denton. Our punishment- we couldn’t go to the final field-trip of the year. Instead, we had to stay in the classroom working on writing assignments.

I had that same feeling in my gut. I was in trouble.

At least I only got written up for going 5 mph over the speed limit. And there’s always that class I can go to get it off of my record…

But, dangit... If only I had slowed down!
