Can't. Do. It.

After I saw the movie "Twilight" and surprisingly liked it, I opted to tackle reading the rest of the series. I had read "Twilight" about a year and a half ago and liked it alright. But, after seeing the movie adaptation, I was curious to see what would happen to the characters.

But... I'm stuck. I can't move past the final book in the series. The writing and story-line is torturous for me to read.

Did you finish it? Is it worth it? A couple of people suggested to not waste my time, so I've begun reading a classic. One that I haven't read in years but knew I would enjoy. I meant to read it over the Christmas break, but wasn't able to get to it. Finally I can and am thoroughly enjoying it- all the illustrations included.

Thank you Louisa May Alcott; I love "Little Women."

So, if any of you die-hard fans are reading this, should I finish "Breaking Dawn?"

Pssst.... As if you didn't know, "Twilight" is out on DVD this Friday.

Keeping Me Pre-Occupied

This week, I caught a nasty cold. It always seems at this time year, I get a cold that keeps me sick for at least 2-3 weeks.

It's not fun.
Luckily, this book has helped me enjoy staying in bed. I haven't loved a book so much since "The History of Love" or "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn." Thank you Ali for the fine recommendation.

A Little Help...

So... I'm making a permanent switch from Bloglines to Google Reader. Bloglines has been driving me increasingly crazy; it's been so slow lately, and I've been missing out on a lot of new blog posts from some of my favorite bloggers.

In the transition, I've realized that there are a lot of blogs that I subscribe that I don't jump to read. They idle and I don't get around to reading them until they have 20+ new feeds.

My question to you: what are the blogs you read (outside of close family and friends) that you're always quick to jump and read?

Here are some of mine:

+ How About Orange
+ SFGirlByBay
+ C Jane Enjoy It
+ Frolic!
+ I Heart You
+ It's Hard to Find a Friend

What are yours? Would love your feedback!

Guilty Pleasure: The Time Traveler's Wife

My sister let me borrow this book. I read probably four years ago and totally fell for Claire and Henry's story. So... I'm reading it again, and was up until 2:00 AM, as I couldn't put it down.

I think its the love story that makes me fall for this book. Henry and Claire's love is not perfect, but there's a lot of passion and such commitment to each other. Plus, the whole time traveling thing? It's totally believable in this book.

Also... the film version comes out 12/25, so if you're going to see the movie, I'd recommend you read it first. However, I know a handful of people who couldn't get through the book... (Don't really understand that.)

Are there any books that you've read twice? For me, it'll be this book and a few of my favorite classics, including "Pride and Prejudice" and "To Kill a Mockingbird." Guess I'm sorta obsessed with this book. Just a little.

(Disclaimer: For those of you who haven't read "Time Traveler's Wife" just know if the book were a movie, it would be rated R, due to some dicey content and some curse words. Just so ya know.)

Send This

Do you remember when e-Cards first came out? I'd search all of the free cards hoping to find one remotely interesting enough to send.

Well, finally, no need to send a kitty jumping out of a cake (unless you like that sort of thing), or a monkey slipping on a banana. There are now funny (and free!) humorous cards. Here are just a couple examples:

(Which is true for me.)

(Which, also, and unfortunately, was true for me.)

Find more here. Warning: Some are a bit offensive. (Offensively funny.)

ScarJo+Reebok

Scarlett Johansson doesn't stop! Not only has she teamed up with Reebok and created a new line of workout clothes, she'll also be coming out with an album. (Though, the album will all be covers of Tom Waits songs.)

Here's a glimpse of the Reebok collection, aptly called Scarlett 'Hearts' RBK Collection:

Pretty cute, but extremely overpriced .

For Your Browsing Pleasure

I came across 2 fun websites today:

First, is HowDoISayThis.... It's a combination of YouTube, and PostSecret. Ultimately what the site does is have college students submit a problem they need help with. Then, users (registration required) help solve the problem by creating a short video... The solution can come from puppets, cartoons, actors, etc. And, the results are available to send to friends.

(Check out the Valentine's Day episode.)

Second, is a Bravo website filled with pop-culture references. It's called GetTRIO. There you can browse pop-culture related (Not Brittney Spears has a new boyfriend pop culture- actually, they do make fun of her, but it's funny.) items, including Stuff to Do (browse upcoming movies), Stuff to See (find out why popcorn become part of movie going.), and Stuff to Buy (Beattle album marking an important Beattle anniversary.).

These websites can keep you entertainingly pre-occupied...

Happy browsing!
