To Go or Not to Go?

So... I'm trying to decide if I should go to my 10 year high school reunion coming up next month. I've heard a handful of opinions on this topic:
  • My 10 year high school reunion was the funnest! You have to go.
  • I didn't go... why would I? I hated high school.
  • Reunions are awkward. Don't go.

So, I've put up a poll to see what you think: to go or not to go?

I am having the same dilemma. I got all the information in the mail the other week and it is $80 a head. Ouch. (I went to high school here in Seattle). But if I went to Skyline I would for sure go. :) You might be surprised with how fun it will be to see old faces.

I went to mine two summers ago. It was definitely awkward and I wouldn't have gone at all if I'd known how little effort was put into it. (Think picnic under a tree because they didn't bother to reserve a pavilion and tacky bar get-together.) I guess I shouldn't have been surprised, but I did drive half a day to get there, so I was a tad peeved.

For me it was fun because I actually got to know quite a few people there that I never got to know in high school (grad. class over 800...) so it was fun meeting "new" people.

I had a blast at mine. Plus, I got to run into Jesse, the guy who dumped me in 8th grade for that trashy Julie Holmes. Yeah. He got fat and bald. HA.

i went to mine a few years ago, and i thought it was really fun. there were so many people who weren't there that i wished had been. don't be that person! you should definitely go!

My reunion is this June and I can't make it :( I am sooo bummed out about it. Everyone I've spoken to who has attended their 10 year reunion said it was a blast and definitely worth going.

I say, if you have a chance to attend, go!

Go. Go. Go. You'll regret it if you don't. Ours was such a great time. After the reunion, a guy from our class' band was playing at the Zephyr. We went and so did a lot of other people. It was great!!!

I went to my 5 and 10 year reunions... my 20th is somehow this year already. I was very shy in high school and wouldn't repeat high school if you paid me to, BUT I had a *blast* at both of my reunions so far, and am anticipating having a great time at the 20th this fall. It's fun catching up with others ... and see odd things that happen ... like the absolute snobbiest girl in the class blowing up like a whale ... the "rocker" now clean-shaven, and me, the quietest girl getting comments that I haven't stopped talking all night :) It's your decision, of course, but I'd vote GO!

THink of it this way, either way it will make for a good blog entry.

my 10 yr is next year and I can't wait! I don't think I would fly somewhere to attend a reunion but since it's only an hour away, I want to see who got knocked up, who got married, who got fat, who got hot, etc.

Go for sure, even if it is spendy, it is fun. The 10 year is one that you should go to so you can decide if you care to go to any more in the future. I loved mine, I thought it was a blast!
