When do you...

start listening to Christmas music?

It's become a debate not only in my workplace, but between me and Jeff, and within my family. And, aren't two Utah radio stations playing all-Christmas music 24/7? Wow.

Take my poll in the right-hand column... Don't worry I won't judge you. I like Christmas music too. But, only after Thanksgiving.

Definitely the day after Thanksgiving for me. I mean, let Thanksgiving have it's time. It's a GREAT holiday. But then... it's all about Christmas!

I start listening when I feel like it. To me, Christmas music doesn't take away from the specialness of Thanksgiving, it just adds to the holiday spirit.

I have a theory. People who can't stand Christmas music before Thanksgiving were probably never in school bands, orchestras, or choirs. I'm just fine with hearing it early because I'm so used to playing/singing it starting in October, for rehearsals.

It's a new theory, so tell me if I'm wrong :)

This year we started listening a couple of days ago. Normally, I like to give Thanksgiving it's fair shot at glory as well, but we are moving a few days before Christmas and things will be more hectic and non-Christmassy than normal, so we figured it would be fine to start early. Plus this is the first year our daughter (she's 3) has requested Christmas music and right now she's down in the basement with my husband organizing boxes and belting out a very bluesey Christmas song with him. I think that's worth it.

You know me, I can't resist it. I love me some Christmas music. I just can't get enough. Stevie Wonder's "Someday At Christmas" is my absolute favorite.
