"Tess of the D'Urbervilles"

I finally had some time last night to begin watching one of my favorite book adaptations. It aired here last week on PBS and is a two-part series. I watched the first part last night and absolutely love it. I've been thinking of Tess and Angel all day. (Seriously.)

Can't wait to finish the rest of the series this weekend... Check your PBS listings to see if you can DVR it. I highly recommend it. (Obviously.)

(Oh, I think the actress who played Tess was spot-on.)

I wish I would have known to DVR it from the start! Tess is one of my favorite books and I haven't seen a movie/TV version I've really loved yet.

I've never seen it or read it, but you've intrigued me enough to make me check it out. Thanks!

Masterpiece has it online for viewing until the 18th: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/tess/watch.html#

This was such a good adaptation, loved it! Although the story makes me want to curl up and die because it's so tragic.
Tess was gorgeous.

I just watched this last night. I had seen an earlier adaptation so I knew what I was in for but I was drawn in as if I didn't know what was going to happen. It was brilliantly done--although I am not sure how long it will take me to get over the tragedy of it all.

Weird! I just started reading this book like five days ago. I'm already a little depressed by it....

I will persevere. Unless I go into labor. If it plays again will you let me know so I can DVR it?

It was so good. One of my favorite books. She is SO pretty. I like her rutsic sort of look in the movie better than her style in real life.
